Grenache Mataro
Wine
Eperosa Grenache Mataro blends Grenache from the Magnolia Vineyard in the Barossa and the Stonegarden Vineyard in the Eden Valley with Mataro from the Hoffman Vineyard in the Barossa Valley.
The grapes are hand sorted into small open fermenters and gently crushed by foot. The ferments receive daily hand plunging and/or rack and returns during fermentation.
After up to 24 days on skins, the wine is basket pressed to new and seasoned French oak barrels. Maturation on lees follows, with malolactic fermentation allowed to run its natural course.
Prior to bottling, the wine is carefully hand racked. It is neither fined nor filtered.
Dark red, Eperosa Grenache Mataro is a lively wine with red fruit flavours, mineral texture and a finish of fine, spicy tannins. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
